Tappy Holidays from Wall-2-Wall Tap Dance Center!

We hope this posting finds you well! This has been a strange year and we are looking forward to putting 2020 behind us. Please read through this entire post for updates on classes, our Holiday Sale, and what we are planning for the future.

January-February 2021 Session
Remains Virtual

I know this will be disappointing to many of you, but in light of the recent increase in COVID-19 infections, we are opting to continue to offer our classes virtually for the Jan-Feb 2021 Session. My business and being able to tap dance with students in person are not worth anyone’s health, safety, and life. I will admit that I was very selfish in making this decision. I need to keep my contact with people very limited if I want to visit my new grandbaby and my 91 year old mother-in-law. I do not wish to do anything that may put my loved ones at risk. The good news is that it looks like there will be a vaccine available in the very near future. My plan is to resume in-person classes once a vaccine is readily available to those who wish to receive it. At this point, I am shooting for the March-April 2021 session, which I feel is very realistic. And perhaps we will not have to wear masks when we dance!

January-February Virtual Classes

Our January-February Virtual Session will begin on Friday, January 8th. For Tap Level 1, we will be learning a new routine to Paul Simon’s “You Can Call Me Al.” Tap Level 2.3 (Waltz Clogs) will be learning a routine to “Piano Man” by Billy Joel. And Tap Level 3 will be learning a new routine to “Higher Ground” by Stevie Wonder. In addition to these new virtual classes, all of the classes from our previous sessions are also available:

Registration for the January-February 2021 Virtual Session is now available. You can register on our Wellness Living site or email Mary at [email protected] to sign up. As with our previous virtual sessions, classes can be paid for with our regular class passes or by purchasing a Virtual Lesson 7 Class Package. About Your Passes

I have spent the last couple of weeks reviewing the approximately 750 customer accounts that I currently have on my system. As I mentioned several month ago, there was no way within the system for me to automatically extend people’s passes. Up to this point, I was dealing with each pass on a case by case basis whenever someone contacted me regarding their passes. The process required that I review each account individually and it took several steps to reactive passes and set them to not expire. This has now been completed. If you had an active Flex-Pass when we shut down in March, any classes that were left on the pass have now been reactivated and set to never expire. There is always the possibility that I missed something along the way, so if you think your account was not updated appropriately, please contact me so I can take a look at it and fix it.

In the meantime, since the future is still relatively uncertain, I have set all Flex-Passes to NEVER EXPIRE. Once we return to in-person classes and things seem to be getting back to normal, I will reevaluate this, but for now, any passes you purchase are good forever!

And We Still Have Shoes!

We have a small selection of brand new tap shoes that we are selling at a huge discount!

The Audeo Tap Shoe runs slightly small. Most people will need to purchase a shoe that is 1/2 sizes larger than their street shoe size. We currently have Audeo Taps in the following ladies sizes: 5.5, 6, 6.5, 7, 7.5, 10.5, 11, 11.5. We are selling these shoes for $59.99 plus tax (These shoes normally cost $86).

The women’s Jason Samuels Smith Shoe runs small. Most women will need to purchase a shoe that is 1 – 1.5 sizes larger than their street shoe size. The sizes we have available are: 5, 5.5, 7.5, 11.5, 12. We also have 1 pair of men’s Jason Samuels Smith Tap Shoes in a size 11. The men’s version runs big, so the 11 would probably fit a man who wears a 12 – 12.5 street shoe. We are selling these shoes for $149.99 plus tax (normally $190).

If you are interested in trying on any of these shoes, please email Mary at [email protected] to make an appointment.

Sheldon Nitzky
December 20, 1941 - October 14, 2020

Sheldon Nitzky signed up for Never-2-Late Tap in the fall of 2016. He had always had an interest in Tap Dance and was looking for an activity that might help with his Parkinson’s Disease. After completing the session, he requested that I give him private lessons. The group classes moved a little fast for him and he felt he would do better if I worked with him one on one. Thus began several years of my Tuesday morning sessions with Sheldon. Sheldon always came into the studio with a smile on his face, a joke or two to share, and one of the most optimistic attitudes I have ever encountered. He was a big fan of the performing arts, especially musical theatre and comedy (Mel Brooks was his personal favorite). We had several simple numbers we had choreographed in our time together and he most enjoyed dancing to the music of the Rat Pack. The last time I saw him was when he and his wife attended my 60th birthday party, which included a screening of the movie “Tap!” After I broke my leg last year, we spoke on the phone a few times. The conversations always ended with promises of dancing together when we were both up to it. I was saddened to hear of his passing and the realization that we will not dance together again is just beginning to sink in. I will miss our Tuesday mornings together.

  1. Your tribute to Sheldon has brought me to tears. Wow. I am so sorry for your loss. Wish I could have met him.

  2. Mel Brooks said, “If you’re quiet, you’re not living. You’ve got to be noisy and colorful and lively.” Sheldon certainly was. He was a delight. I am sorry for your loss.
