Oct-Nov 2019 Session Wrap-Up
The Oct-Nov 2019 Session wraps up on Friday, November 22. We are taking a break from classes for the rest of November and December so that our students and staff can enjoy the holidays. During this time, we will be open limited hours so that people can call or stop by to register for January or register for the Phoenix Tap Festival.

6th Anniversary Party
We are very excited to be celebrating our 6th Anniversary this Saturday. This event will be used as a fundraiser for the studio to help make up for the revenue that has been lost while Mary recovers from her injury. The event will include 3 half-hour sample classes at various levels, a silent auction and a raffle. The classes are all “pay what you want.” Silent Auction items include a 2′ X 4′ practice board from O’Mara Sprung Floors, a pair of custom tap shoes from Miller and Ben Tap Shoes, a pair of tickets to see Dorrance Dance at the Mesa Arts Center on April 1, a pair of OverTaps Tap Shoe Covers, a 1-hour private lesson with Mary Wall, and an Unlimited Class Pass for the Jan-Feb 2020 Session. Raffle items include studio merchandise, some tap dance inspired art, a 10-Class Flex Pass, and 3 “Mystery Bags” Raffle tickets will be $5 each, 3 tickets for $10, 7 tickets for $20. We will have a separate bin for each prize so you can decide which prize(s) you want to win.

Black Friday Workshop
Join us on Friday, November 29 from 12 noon - 1:30 pm for this wonderful workshop sponsored by the AZ Tap Club. Jenefer Miller and Steve Zee will teach you about music and how to really listen and understand it.
Participants will read sheet music, drum, tap dance, and everyone will have an opportunity to create steps too!
This workshop is open to all levels of tap dancer (recommended Wall2Wall Tap Dance Center Level 1 and up). This workshop is $20. Current Wall2Wall Tap Dance Center students are eligible for a discount that is only available if you register in person at the studio.

We will be open on Small Business Saturday, November 30 from 10 am – 2 pm. Stop by during this time and get 10% off all Flex-Passes and Unlimited Passes for the Jan/Feb 2020 Session. Phoenix Tap Festival: Jan 3 - 4, 2020

Registration is now open for the 2020 Phoenix Tap Festival and we are pleased to announce that Wall-2-Wall Tap Dance Center is handling all of the registration services for this event. Phoenix Tap Festival will be held January 3-4 at Dancers Domain in Scottsdale and has an exciting line-up of faculty, classes, and events. This year’s faculty includes Ted Levy, Sean Kaminski, Jeremy Arnold, Megan McBride Moore, and festival founder, Jenefer Miller. Classes are available for Advanced level students or Intermediate level. Wall-2-Wall Tap Dance Center students who are Level 2.5 and up should plan on taking the Intermediate level classes. Wall-2-Wall Tap Dance Center Discount Members (Seniors 50+, Full-Time College Students, and US Military) receive a 20% discount on all class passes. You must be flagged in our system as a discount member in order to receive the 20% off.

Next Session: Jan-Feb 2020

The schedule and registration for our January/February 2020 Session is now available! Mary Wall will make her return to teaching this session so we have been able to add some classes back into the schedule.
Raine and Marla will continue to teach all of the Never-2-Late and Tap Level 1 classes.
Mary will be teaching the 2.1, 2.4, 2.7, and Level 3 classes. Level 2.1 will focus on the Coles Stroll, Level 2.4 is Military Times Steps, and Level 2.7 is an exploration of the classic “3 and a break” pattern and non-standard time steps.
We are pleased to announce that Sheri will be staying on and will be teaching a generic Level 2 class and a new Level 4 class. The Level 2 class she will be teaching will be appropriate for students who have taken most of the Level 2 sub-levels. In this class, she will be using a variety of the steps and combinations that are covered in 2.1 – 2.9. Her new Level 4 class will be for students who are desiring a challenge beyond Level 3. This class will be fast-paced and will include complex steps and combinations and maybe even some tricks and turns!
New Pricing Structure Beginning in January
The new year is bringing a rent increase for our studio and we have had to reevaluate our pricing structure because of it. We have also learned some things as a result of the classes we had to cancel due to Mary’s injury. So, beginning in January, the following changes are going into effect:
- Drop-in Classes will now be $15 for regular members and $12 for Discount Members.
- 7 Week Session Passes will no longer be offered. Our customers seem to very much prefer the Flex-Passes. With Flex-Passes you only pay for the classes you take and they are valid for 120 days rather than just the 7 weeks. The session pass required you to use up your classes during the session or you would be out the classes. Flex-Passes also offer us more flexibility in the event that we need to cancel classes for any reason.
- We will continue to offer Unlimited Session Passes. These are ideal for customers who take four or more classes a week on a regular basis, as it offers a substantial savings.
- We are offering a new Unlimited Annual Pass. The Unlimited Annual Pass will give you unlimited classes for all 5 sessions in a year for the cost of 4 sessions.
- We are introducing a new 5 Class Flex-Pass for those who don’t wish to make a 10 or 20 class commitment.
- Our 10 and 20 Class Flex-Passes will have slight fee increase.
If you plan on attending classes regularly, we still recommend that you register for the class(es) you plan on taking in advance. This will help us evaluate whether classes have enough people enrolled to remain on the schedule.
Shoe Order
We have submitted our annual shoe order to Miller and Ben Tap Shoes, so orders are now closed for this year. Thank you to everyone who loaned us shoes so that others could try out different sizes. If you loaned us shoes, please stop by the studio to retrieve them.
For those of you who ordered shoes: We are expecting the fitting pairs and standard shoes to arrive in 2 - 3 weeks. We will contact you when the shoes arrive. If you ordered custom shoes, it will likely be 2-3 months before we receive the shoes. Miller and Ben have not yet given us an estimate on when we might receive them.
If you missed ordering this time, we anticipate that we will be taking orders again in August 2020.
