WELCOME BACK TO CLASS!

In person classes will resume with the May-June Session with classes starting on Monday, May 3, 2021! Registration is now open for this session. Classes will be offered in-person and via Zoom for students who still do not feel comfortable returning to in person classes just yet. Zoom classes will use the same class passes as our in-person classes. For those of you planning on returning to in person classes, the following policies and guidelines will be in place:

1 – Masks are required at all times in the studio (including the lobby). Masks will need to cover your nose and mouth.

2 – Students will be asked to not enter the facility until 5 minutes before class time and leave quickly after class is over. Please pre-pay for all of your classes. We cannot have people hanging out and socializing. We are also asking that you not bring any unnecessary items into the studio. Ideally, you should bring just a few personal items, especially your shoes, a water bottle, and keys with you.

3 – Initially, classes will be limited to 8 students in person. Classes will also be available via Zoom for those who do not wish to take class in person.

4 – There will be a minimum of 30 minutes between classes so that we can clean and wipe down frequently touched surfaces.

5 – Students will be asked to limit socializing during class and maintain at least 6 feet of distance from other students.

6 – Students will need to sign a release of liability stating that they understand that they are attending classes at their own risk, including the risk of contracting COVID-19.

7 - All students must be pre-paid and pre-registered for any class they will attend. This means you will need to have active class passes on your account and be registered for the specific class(es) you wish to attend. We recommend registering in advance on-line, but if you are not comfortable doing so, you may email Mary or contact the studio during one of our registration days.

We are closely monitoring the infection rates and may modify these policies as needed. We strongly recommend that you not return to in person classes until you are fully vaccinated. As infection rates continue to drop and the risk of infection becomes less, we may increase the capacity for in person attendance.

Online registration is now available. If you are not comfortable registering online, we will be opened limited hours the week of April 26 to help you get registered. If you would like to register before this, please email Mary and she will help you.

Class Passes

In preparation for the new session, we have made a few adjustments to our class passes. Prices are basically staying the same, but we have discontinued the Unlimited Session Pass and the Unlimited Annual Pass. Now that we are back to in person classes, the 7 Class Virtual Pass has also been discontinued. All of the pre-recorded virtual classes are still available as a package for $80 each. We have added a 7 Class Session Package for in person and Zoom classes for $90. This pass has a discount price of $72.00. For the time being, we have decided to continue the “no expiration date” policy on all of our passes.

Many of you have class passes available on your account from late 2019 and early 2020 and may not need to purchase any additional classes at this time. If you have any questions about what classes you have available, please contact Mary.

Mary’s Health Update

Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers, and well-wishes. It is now 2 weeks since I had my surgery and my life is beginning to return to normal. I had a post-op visit with the doctor earlier this week. My incision is healing nicely and they feel very confident that they got all of the cancer. The cancer was very well-contained in the thyroid nodule, so they only had to take the right lobe. I will not need any more treatment at this time. The surgeon has officially handed me over to the endocrinologist for all further monitoring. I have been cleared for mild to moderate exercise and to do light housework. Once I am 3 weeks post-op, I can begin to increase my exercise and should be good to do whatever I want by week 4-5.

I have found that I am a little short of energy since having my surgery and was advised to plan on a slow comeback. The doctor recommended that initially, I should plan on teaching no more than 2 classes a day and to space out my classes. So if you noticed that the schedule for May-June is a little light, that is why. I will be relying on Raine and Marla to help me out, too. Raine will be teaching the Never-2-Late classes and Marla will cover the Tap Level 1 classes.

Vegas, Baby!

The Las Vegas Tap Festival will take place June 4-6 at the Westgate Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. Once again, they will be offering a specially priced package for senior citizens with several classes designated specifically for seniors. 1. Thanks for the update, Mary. Best news is that you are cancer free and on the road to recovery. Be good to yourself as you regain your strength!

  2. So much good news! I’m happy to hear you’re doing so well. Take it slow getting back into the groove of things.
I’m looking forward to in person classes:-)

  3. When I was little (78 now) a hospital in Chicago started what might have been study and radiated small children’s tonsils so they would shrink and not have to be taken out. About 20 years later they found some of those kids got thyroid cancer. They found as many of those kids as they could and followed them with annual exams for years. I didn’t get it, but some did. They did say, that it was almost always successfully treated. A boy I new was diagnosed at the end of school, but was going to leave for summer camp- probably 8 weeks. The doctor said go ahead, they would operate when he got back. They just were not worried. I still know that boy, only now he is a man. As one doctor said to my friend, who had it, if you have to have cancer, this is the best kind. She’s fine too. Hope you don’t have anymore medical issues.

  4. Great news on both sides! I’m excited to get back to tapping in person, and a little nervous too! But I think having feedback from a live person will be awesome 🙂 See you soon!

  5. THANK GOD All went well for you !! Blessings for Your full recovery Be patient on Your returning Takecare,
