Our October-November Session is underway! All classes have met minimum enrollment requirements and will continue through the remainder of the session.
It’s time to order shoes!
Thank you for your patience in placing this year’s shoe order. Now that Mary is back at the studio on a regular basis, we will be ready to start taking our annual order for Miller and Ben Tap Shoes next week! Here is the timeline for shoe orders:
Now - Oct. 25: If you already own Miller and Ben Tap Shoes, please consider leaving a pair at the studio. This will allow new Miller and Ben customers an opportunity to try on different sizes and determine their correct size before ordering.
October 21 - November 4: We will accept shoe orders during this time. If we have not hit the minimum number of 10 shoes during this 2 week period, we will extend the order date until we have. Please be prepared to pay for your shoes at the time you order.
November 4 - 8: If you have loaned us a pair of shoes, please plan on picking them up this week.
Once we place our order, non-custom shoes usually arrive in 2-3 weeks. Custom shoes usually arrive in 2-3 months.
A few things you should know if you are new to Miller and Ben’s:
1 - These shoes use European sizing as it enables the fit to be more accurate. Most styles are available in Narrow, Regular, or Wide widths. They can also build your shoes orthodic enabled in the toe area, heel area, or both. This adds 1/8″ of leather in the area indicated. Please note that all orthodic enabled shoes are considered to be custom order.
2 - What you are buying are musical instruments. These shoes are heavy and stiff, especially compared to the typical Bloch or Capezio tap shoe, but the sound is superb and they support your foot. They have a long break-in period and it may take a long time for you to get used to them. If you are concerned about the stiffness, please know that some of the leathers they use are softer than others. Mary can help guide you in your selection.
3 - Payment is due at the time you place your order. ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
4 - Ordering through us will offer you a substantial savings. If you order these shoes on your own, you would need to pay for the shoes, the taps, the tap installation, and shipping. If you place an order through us, you get everything for one price: the taps and installation are included as is the shipping. This year’s prices are:
$249: Jazz Tap Master, Rhythm Heels Pro, Broadway Diva, Classic Jane, T-Step in Standard Colors: All Black, All White, Black and White, All Skin Tan. These shoes with shipping would be $301 if you ordered on your own.
$279: Triple Threat, SporTap, New Show Girl, La Coquette and all shoes styles listed above in custom colors. These shoes with shipping would be $333 if you ordered on your own.
Please note: The Tap Boot is not available with our group order.

Morton Gould’s Tap Dance Concerto
featuring Jenefer Ardell Miller
This Sunday at 2 pm is the MusicaNove Orchestra’s performance of Morton Gould’s Tap Dance Concerto with featured soloist Jenefer Ardell Miller. This piece is not performed very often, so you won’t want to miss this opportunity to see it. Plus, it’s awesome to support live tap dance performances! Tickets are available on the MIM website: MIM.ORG.
Merchandise Sale
Beginning next week, we will be having a merchandise clearance sale. This sale has 2 purposes:
1 - Clear out some storage space so we can order some new merchandise.
2 - Bring in some extra cash to the business. Even though classes have been a good size, we have not been able to offer as many classes as usual since Mary’s injury and this has had a negative effect on the business’ bottom line. This sale should help increase the cash flow of the business.
